I haven't seen news about Gil lately. He was doing concerts for awhile, any news?

With the election of Barack Obama and the inauguration will Gil be performing in DC?
also Gil traditionally is at SOBs for Dr. Martin Luther King day.

NYC: MLK Day w/ Gil Scott-Heron

Sunday, January 18th, S.O.B.’s celebrates Martin Luther
King Day with Gil Scott-Heron. The revered musician and
poet, most famous for the 1970’s era-defining poem, “The
Revolution Will Not Be Televised”, returns to the legendary
S.O.B.’s for his first show in 2009. A long time civil
rights activist, Gil Scott-Heron is the author of a book on
the history of MLK Day and returns to S.O.B.’s for two
intimate shows commemorating the holiday.
Gil Scott-Heron’s
politically charged material made him a stalwart figure in
the 1970’s civil rights movement. His lyrical content
covered topics like the superficiality of television and mass
consumerism, the hypocrisy of some would-be Black revolutionaries,
white middle-class ignorance of the difficulties faced by inner-city
residents, and fear of homosexuals. His honesty, matter-of-fact
delivery and fearlessness to address important social issues
in the face of media criticism made him one of the foremost
progenitors of contemporary hip-hop and spoken word.
After
more than 30 years of social activism through music, Gil Scott-Heron
remains dedicated to the civil rights movement and social equality.
After a too-long hiatus the resilient Scott-Heron will take
to the stage where seems to be most comfortable. January 18th
promises to be an epic performance as Gil performs to celebrate
the life of one of history’s most important and influential
civil rights leaders.

We must keep the momentum of Change visible.
The Elections have been completed. GREAT!!
But it's clearly visible that the Enemy of Harmony and Peace is busy plotting and wishing Failure for OUR President Obama and the Re-Unification of the "Red" & "Blue" States into what has always been the United States.
In the Sprit of our Brothers (BJ,GSH,MLK) & Sisters (Nikki Giovanni, Maya A, AD) keep attentive!!
The Divide and Conquer tactics are still being implemented at all levels by the "Evil Doers".
