Moving Target is, naturally, another play on words, but this time it is also extremely accurate in descibing the main play here : our music. Over the past eighteen months the Amnesia Express (a.k.a. Midnight Band) has traveled through four countries and gained exposure in many others while establishing itself as one of the most unique units on the world. The response to the second Amnesia Express LP, Reflections, was so positive from both our longtime followers as well as people who were "discovering" us, that even while moving we wanted to record and explore these new directions.
Moving Target illustrates a firm mastery over the diverse elements that mean Midnight music. There are tunes here from Robert Gordon and Larry MacDonald as well as super arrangements from Malcolm Cecil (co-producer) and Carl Cornwell. We believe that the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our people demand a presentation where reggae, salsa, poetry, blues and just plain funk come together with innovation. This is what Amnesia Express is all about. The evolution is not complete. Come with us. You can be with us when we arrive.
